In topic we have been creating a background for our scene (Clash Of The Titans) we are going to make plastercene models of all the characters in the film. Also in I.C.T we have been making Blue dudes , which are plastercene models too. To practice how to create our movies we have been using the digiblue cameras to take stop and start motion pictures, so when you put it all together it will make a little scene. And when it has been put together it will look really cool.
On the 3rd December 2008, six of my class will be representing the school at an evening awards ceremony, to be held at Grimsby Central Hall. There, they will premier their own music video containing music, still and moving images and audio. The whole piece was written, directed and produced by the children themselves … including the music. They have taken their own emotion poems, created in Literacy, and given them a modern flavour. May I take this opportunity to wish them the best of luck and I hope they enjoy the evening with their families and friends.

This week in 6B maths set we have been learning about translating shapes on a X and Y axis with co-ordinates by 10 to -10. Also we have been learning all about reflective symmetry. This week in 6E maths set we have been learning about lines of reflective symmetry, learning how to add large thousands and been learning about 2D shapes.
In Science we have been learning about how fast leaves can decay, we have also been learning about micro-organisms and all sorts of bacteria. For our science homework we had to find missing words about micro-organisms and last of all we have been testing experiments linked to bread and cheese in cupboards,fridges,dirty hands and room temperature. In History we have been researching about gods, goddesses,wars,myths and legends, including other things in the past.
In literacy we have been writing our own biographies. We had to pick our favorite star, like Daniel Craig, and write a biography about them. Also in literacy, on the mini laptops, we had to take a picture of a blurb on a book and say what genre it was using the evidence. We had to write a few sentences about what genre it was and how we knew.
Well this Friday we have been dressing up like a pop star or a movie character for ‘Children in Need’. For example, Ozzy Osbourne, Noel Gallagher and Stephanie from ‘LAZYTOWN’. We had some delicious cakes, a competition and the teachers are going to do a wildcat dance this afternoon. It is going to be so funny!
This week we went to a Basketball festival at the Grimsby Leisure Centre, with us were Y6 pupils from St Peters. We were taught skills in basketball and had a few friendlies against each other but not everyone played against each other. There were 7 groups all together and we played games near the end. We had a great day!!!
During the week we have been learning about shapes that are 2D and we also have been looking at the many different triangles, such as scalene, equilateral, right-angled and isosceles. In Mr Bate’s maths group we have been learning how to translate shapes, plotting co-ordinates in four quadrants and identifying which co-ordinates could be joined to make 2D shapes (trapezium / rhombus etc).

This week in literacy we have been focusing on autobiographies and biographies. Autobiographies are where a person writes about themselves. For example they might say ’I was told I was perfect at school’. However, a biography is where someone else writes about another person. We have been doing autobiographies about ourselves on the mini notebooks. We brought pictures of ourselves which went through different stages of our life so far. On the mini notebooks there is a camera and we took pictures of the pictures we brought in for our autobiographies.
